Annual Spring Concert

Choreography Begins - The Diamond Dance Center dance program consists of two seventeen-week sessions. The Fall session runs from September to mid-January with the primary emphasis on learning technique and practicing the skills and fundamentals learned in class. The Winter/Spring session begins mid-January and ends mid-June, it is during this session that dancers begin to learn the choreography for their spring performance dances, in addition, to continued work on technique.

Spring Performance –
The annual spring performance is held in June. The exact performance venue and dates are determined by facility availability and weather issues. All dancers in the program from Dance For Fives level and up may participate in the spring show. The number of performances will vary based on student enrollment and show length. We currently have two end-of-year performances. Once again, the format for these performances may vary.

For example, one show might be held on Friday evening and the second show would be held on Saturday evening of the same weekend. If necessary, the shows may be held on separate weekends or two shows on the same day – one afternoon, one evening. The majority of our dancers would perform in only ONE of these shows. Dancers in our Youth level, Teen level, and the Gems In Motion Company members usually dance in ALL shows. These decisions are usually made in late March/early April and dancers are notified as to their specific performance dates.

Costumes -
All dancers must purchase costumes for the annual spring performance. Dancers are measured for costumes in October. A costume deposit/payment must be paid in early October. The balance owed on the costumes, if any, is due in March. Costume payments are non-refundable!! If a dancer withdraws after costumes have been purchased, the costumes must be paid for in full! Costumes are usually distributed to the dancers in May.

Pictures -
A professional photographer comes to the studio in early June to take individual pictures and class pictures of each dancers. The purchase of the pictures is optional, however, all dancers are requested to participate in the class photos. This is a great way to preserve “dance” memories and keep a record of your child’s annual performance.
