Students are expected to be prompt and to attend all classes. To ensure the safety of the dancer, students who arrive after class warm-up has begun may be asked to observe the class. Every effort must be made to arrive on time and be ready to dance! Young children should be accompanied into the center. Dancers should be picked up promptly after classes. Students, family members and siblings in the waiting area are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times.

Diamond Dance Center Dress Code

All dancers must adhere to the dress code. Students in hip hop must have a separate clean pair of tennis shoes ONLY to be worn in hip hop class.  You are NOT permitted to wear the shoes you have on from outside, inside the studio.  Hip hop shoes must NOT have black soles.  When street shoes are worn for class, the shoes track salt, water, and dirt onto the studio floor.  This can create a dangerous situation as young children and dancers are sitting and dancing on the floor.  If you do not bring in a separate pair of shoes to put on for class, you will NOT be allowed to participate.  All dancers should make sure the “treads” of their hip hop shoes are free of ALL dirt and debris.  This policy will be strictly enforced.  NO REFUNDS will be given for missed classes due to improper foot wear. 

1. The dress code for dance classes at the studio will be strictly enforced! Dancers must wear the appropriate color leotard, tights, and dance shoes to class each week.

2. Dancers like other “athletes” must wear a uniform that enables them to move with ease and allows the teacher to see their body for placement and corrections.

3. Hair must be secured up and away from the face. ALL dancers from Primary III & up must wear their hair up in a neat bun.

4. Children’s feet grow rapidly. As feet grow, new shoes must be purchased. Dance shoes cannot be sized up! Shoes are often the most expensive part of dance training. Consider them to be the “equipment” of their sport!
